The COVID-19 crisis has underscored just how important it is for Texas to address our systemic health care provider shortage. That's why in the 87th Texas Legislative Session we will be advocating for improved telehealth options and a removal of delegation barriers when receiving care. We will work to eliminate outdated delegation barriers for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) that create a hidden tax on health care and waste half of our primary care workforce. Additionally, we will work to eliminate regulatory barriers and obstacles to telehealth that undermine its innovation and efficiency. Now more than ever, it is important that every Texan has equal access to a variety of health care options that fit their needs.
